  Regulation of the right to conscientious objection?

  WORKING GROUPS - On April 15 and 16 in Bogota, working groups met for the second time to discuss legislative initiatives currently in development that will regulate the right to conscientious objection, affirmed by Sentence C-728. Different conscientious objectors’ organizations and collectives gathered to discuss the implications and practical consequences of this regulation. Members of working groups began to work toward joint agreements that would enable them to influence a future process in which conscientious objectors themselves would participate in drafting a law.   May 15th: Public Declaration on the International Day of Conscientious Objection

  MAGDALENA MEDIO - Read here the Public Declaration on Conscientious Objection written by young people from northern Colombia. This declaration was presented to civilian and military authorities on the International Day of Conscientious Objection, celebrated on May 15th: "We object against authoritarianism, war, and family violence. We object against the way young people are disrespected and judged, stigmatizing and eliminating them.
