Gothenburg LGBT Festival: Seeing oneself reflected in society
10 November 2010, byINTERVIEW - The LGBT festival was founded in 2007 by five of Gothenburg's cultural institutions, such as Gothenburg City Theatre and the Museum of World Culture. Since 2009, the event has been arranged through the LGBT-festival Association (Ingress). Transiting through life
9 November 2010, byINTERVIEW - Camilo Andrés Rojas is the founder of the Colectivo de Entre-Tránsitos and co-ordinator of the Civis-funded project Masculinidades Transgresoras. He explains the history, concepts and challenges that face transmen every day in Colombia. Looking back - videoconference about Gender and Intersectionality
6 November 2010, byEXCHANGE - On October 14th, Civis organized a videoconference for young people in Sweden and Colombia. The main theme for the conference was intersectionality and several of Civis' partners participated in exchanging experiences and presenting their work on the subject. The discussion, moderated by Civis personnel in Gothenburg and Bogotá, brought two realities together, and Colombian youths presented their human rights work especially with a LGBT perspective. Every"body" counts
5 November 2010, by ,RESEARCH - The Observatory of Sexual and Gender-Orientated Violence was founded in the department of Valle del Cauca, in the southwest of Colombia, where violence against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) individuals is particularly common. According to the human rights report 2009 of Colombia Diversa – a Colombian NGO working for LGBT rights – the city of Santiago de Cali is the most homophobic in the country. Since 2004, there have been 72 assassinations in Cali related to sexual-diversity issues. READ MORE... -

Conscientious objection is a way to reject militarism and to question that sense of masculinity that is directly connected with power and violence, it is also a step towards the construction of a sustainable Culture of Peace.
